House by the Sea consists of two towers and one larger cabin, all designed by Vardehaugen and shaped with deep respect for the surrounding landscape. Materials, interiors, and views have been carefully chosen to create a sense of calm, closeness to nature, and the feeling of being right at the water’s edge.

This is a place to stay for those seeking stillness, weather, light, and architecture in harmony. A place to arrive, exhale, and experience Træna at your own pace.

The Cabin

The Cabin is a spacious and welcoming place to stay for up to four guests. There is plenty of room to unwind and let the days follow the rhythm of the weather, the light, and island life.

With a living room, open kitchen, separate bedroom, and sleeping alcove, everything is in place for a comfortable stay – whether you come for a few peaceful days or want to use the cabin as a base for exploring Træna. Large windows open towards the sea and Trænstaven, bringing nature close throughout your stay.

The interior is warm and refined, characterised by Norwegian quality and natural materials. A fireplace, dining area, and small terraces on both sides make the cabin an easy place to enjoy – in the midnight sun, autumn storms, or beneath the northern lights.

The Towers

The Towers are small and distinctive accommodation units for two guests – intimate, warm, and close to nature. Set across two levels, they offer everything you need for a comfortable stay at the outer edge of the sea.

On the ground floor, you will find the entrance, bathroom, a small kitchen, and a compact living area. Upstairs is the bedroom, where the large windows make the landscape part of the room itself. Here, you can wake up to the sea, the light, and Trænstaven just outside.

Both towers have small terraces that bring you even closer to the weather, the silence, and the surroundings. The Towers are well suited for those looking for a simple, beautiful, and unique place to stay – with architecture, views, and calm at the centre
